Drip Cafe Protest January 2026

This Friday marked our first Drip protest of the year, and like last month, it was well attended by our crew, and overall pretty uneventful. The art walk was mostly quiet, and so was the coffee shop, where they were holding a poorly-attended New Year’s service.

Luckily, our comrades from Notes of Dissent were able to drown out the predictably bad worship music that the hate café was blasting with renditions of “Killing in the Name Of” and anti-fascist favorite “Bella Ciao.”

Although none of the regular bigots seemed to be there, we still had a couple encounters with supporters of Drip — one intoxicated woman ranted about Christ and threatened to sic her huge Mastiff on us. We also encountered a right-wing debate bro youtuber who tried to get us to debate communism. He was promptly chanted down and sent on his way.

The rest of our interactions with the crowd were extremely positive as usual. Although most art walk attendees are now familiar with the café and its bigoted agenda, those who weren’t expressed shock at a place like that being open in the Arts District, and thanked us for our work in protesting and informing the community. We will be back at it next month and every month until Drip Café is gone for good!"
